Students in the public relations program at the School of Business (Sydney) are receiving a taste of what it’s like to work for real clients this semester. As part of their major assessment, students have been provided with briefs from three not-for-profit organisations and asked to develop online public relations plans which they will later pitch to their clients. Barnardos, The World Wildlife Fund and The Wine Society are all taking part in the e-Public Relations program. Students visited the organisations on August 15, 2011. See below some of the photos from a wine tasting session that followed The Wine Society visit.
The public relations program at Notre Dame is designed to offer students hands-on practical experience. In e-PR we don’t just talk about online PR, we go out there and do it!
Many organisations are targeting and recruiting students and recent graduates because of their familiarity with social media. It’s a win-win scenario for the NGOs and students – the students receive invaluable experience learning to work on real projects and the not-for-profit organisations get to tap the networking skills of Generation Y.

Great blog…. Well done Phillip.
