Jamie Oliver supports Nude Food Day

PHILLIP CENERE — As a National Board Member of Nutrition Australia I’m delighted with the great work the team is doing and proud to share with you some of the exciting events and programs being produced by Nutrition Australia, including National Nude Food Day this coming Wednesday… that’s just three days away!

Hear what Jamie Oliver has to say about Nude Food Day:

From Nutrition Australia:

This Wednesday 13 October, well over half a million Australians will be packing healthy, rubbish free lunch and snacks to raise awareness of the importance of nude food, for our health and the health of our planet.

As a part of National Nutrition Week 10-16 October, Nutrition Australia and Nude Food Movers are challenging all Australian schools and workplaces to look after the environment and their health by packing their food nude.  With so many Australians taking part in the day, and now with the support of our English nude foodie Jamie Oliver, we are set to make a real difference!

Did you know that each Australian household produces an average of 1.14 tonnes of waste per year… a number that together, we can all help to reduce!

Nude Food Day is all about encouraging kids, families and workplaces to pack their lunch and snacks without the use of any wrapping, while also promoting healthy eating habits and an understanding of ‘everyday foods’ and ‘sometimes foods’.
